Feeling Good

When enough is never enough

I had the best weekend. On Friday after work SS came to meet me so we could hang out. We caught the train to North Freo station so we could get my car, then drove to Scarborough for dinner at Villa Bianchi’s. We had gourmet pizza’s - SS had a bbq chicken one and I had a vego one with sweet potato, olives, tomato and chili relish on it. A couple of drinks, a candle on the table and a girl singing in the corner made it an awesome night. It was ended perfectly by hearing those words that everyone who shares similar feelings wants to hear.

Saturday saw us shopping for an iPod for SS. He ended up getting a 20GB one plus an iTrip, and we checked out some couches for our non-existent place along the way ;) Dinner at my place followed, and we got SS’s iPod started up as well. Then it was off to the casino with SS’s mates. The night consisted of good friends, people watching (skanky girls and greasy guys), free coffee galore with SS’s new club card, and the loss of a pineapple (that’s a 50 for those not in the know). A good time though :)

On Sunday we got up at midday to madly rush to my cousin’s christening, then I got a bit of a stomach upset. So we hung around my place in the arvo, with a bit of snuggling, then off to take SS home. We got Nando’s on the way (mmm haven’t had Nando’s in ages - I had a double breast burger combo and chocolate mousse, but it was my only meal that day so I figure it’s ok) then went to the beach to watch the sun set. Man it was cold but exhilirating. And very romantic :) Then we set SS’s iPod up on his computer and started importing his songs. He’s very impressed with his new toy :) And it’s very cool when you have different music tastes - how great is it when you share with someone a song that you love and they like it?

Even though we saw each other all weekend except for Saturday morning, I still could have had more. Things just keep getting better. I don’t know how, but they do. It’s bloody fantastic. But when it came time for me to go home, it was ok, because I knew I’d see him again in a couple of days, and it’ll be even better. Everything is so much better when you completely trust someone, and you know they trust you in return. Example? SS wanted to read this blog a little while ago, so I let him. And he liked it, even though I talk about him all the time. And I’m not afraid to keep talking about him.

By the way, big congratulations to SS for winning the D.N. Foster Award for Coastal and Ocean Engineering! Now he gets to go to Adelaide in about a month for the Australasian Coastal and Ocean Engineering Conference. Hopefully I will be able to go with him, it’d be awesome :)

Looking forward to: Late spring/summer - my feet are freezing!

Super super super!

Well, dinner was great. And that was the best bloody lasagna ever! :) SS was well impressed. He did really well with mum too!

It’s so nice seeing someone that you can talk to. Just general chatting, but also deep and meaningful, substance-of-life stuff. It makes such a difference, it is really comforting.

I could go on and on (and believe me, Marilyn can tell you I do!), but I have to go and have dinner and then go to UWA and shut myself in a cold, dark lab, and count sperm in emu membranes! hehe ;)

The First Dinner

Well, The Silver Surfer is coming over for dinner tonight for the first time. And, being sick home from work today, I have plenty of time to ensure my mediterranean vegetable lasagna is fantastic! I crashed pretty early last night, so my mum ended up cooking the eggplant and zucchini for me, now I have to put everything together. I can’t wait for the taste test - it’s also going to have kalamata olives, artichokes, semidried tomatoes and roasted capsicum as well as fetta cheese. mmmmmmmmmm :)

I’ll let you know how it goes!

Stuck On You Like Glue

Parking in Northbridge on a Friday night: a few dollars
Drinks at a good friend’s party at The Deen: $30
Getting asked to go to and live in Melbourne (or Oxford!) next year with that special certain someone: absolutely priceless!

This weekend was great. After what seemed like a long week at work, I went to Choccybear, Missy and Pancho’s joint birthday party at the Deen. I brought my relatively new boyfriend (we met two months ago on Thursday) along, he was pretty excited about getting to meet people - he “biro’d” himself in to come along when I invited him a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, one of the people I wanted him to meet properly couldn’t come, but he got to meet some of the guys, so that was cool. It took him a while to relax, but eventually I even got him almost dancing!

Due to the fact that he lives in woop woop, I stayed over his place on Friday night, and managed to upset his mum, but I think she’s over it now heheh. But the icing on the cake came when, before I went home on Sat, said boyfriend asked me if he ends up going to Melbourne next year (he already has a good job to go to, he just has to make up his mind whether he wants to go or not) would I want to come and try it out with him? Of course I said yes, because things are going so well at the moment. It’s still only a very tentative yes, of course. Especially since he’s planning on applying for a scholarship to Oxford. And small chance though it is, he could end up there next year, not Melbourne. And I think I’d have a hard time moving in to one of the colleges with him!

He’s definitely a very cool guy. He’s smart, funny, comes from a good family (and he’s English - EU here we come! hehe just joking), treats me amazingly good, takes an interest in me and my life, and likes to share stuff about him and his life with me as well. And can’t leave out the tall, buff and handsome bit! I haven’t felt this good about being in a relationship with someone in… well, absolutely ages. It’s fantastic.

I’m very much looking forward to watching him play basketball on Wednesday night, should be great. He is a bit shy about me coming to watch him, but he came to watch me play soccer a couple of weeks ago, and let’s just say, my performance that day could have been better. So I don’t know what he’s worried about, but it’s very cute :)

Favourite place right now: The beach at Kallaroo
